World renowned French designers Yiqing Yin, Alexandre Vauthier and Simon Porte Jacquemus have each designed high their own versions of a high couture make up bag. Lancôme has given only one criterion to the designers: to somehow incorporate the iconic Lancôme rose.

Using the classic makeup kit design, Yiqing Yin has designed a cosmetics case that can be used as a handbag as well. Well known for her high status as creative director of Leonard, this will be Yin’s first time venturing outside the realm of clothing design. The design of her bag, draws inspiration from masculine characteristics, while every aesthetic element of her bag is completely functional.

Jacquemus, one of the finalists in the LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize, made his bag a hybrid. Drawing inspiration from ’60s and ’80s, his waterproof, bubblegum-pink creation is a mix between a carrying pouch and evening bag.

Vauthier’s bag, titled “Unfolder 7,” is a take on classic, black lacquered cosmetics packaging. It’s a convertible piece that goes from clutch to shoulder bag and is made of black satin with a lamb’s leather interior.

Lancôme collectors can expect the bags out mid-June of 2014. Fifty bags from each designer will be available in selected stores worldwide.
