We’ve been following the stages of first annual LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize
since it was announced that our editor in chief would join the judges panel in January. Finally today, the panel of experts has named Thomas Tait the first-ever winner of the award. He will receive an investment of €300,000 towards his label in addition to a one-year mentorship. Other candidates in the running were Simon Porte Jacquemus of Jacquemus, Tim Coppens, Gabriele Colangelo, Shayne Oliver of Hood by Air, Nikita and Tina Sutradhar of Miuniku, Tillmann Lauterbach, Chris Gelinas, and Simone Rocha.
The winner was chosen by eight designers from top LVMH fashion houses
including Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, and Ricardo Tisci, as well as Delphine Arnault and Pierre-Yves Roussel, the Chairman and CEO of LVMH Fashion Group.
As CR Fashion Book
has always been a welcome platform for young talent, we are honored to have included Thomas Tait in our first issue and we look forward to his bright future in fashion.
